About Gidget
Gidget is a 7- to 8-month-old female German Shepherd with a sweet but shy demeanor. She came from a local shelter, so not much is known about her past. Gidget is on the smaller side for her breed, and while she has some growing to do, her temperament may require a gentle approach. She thrives on companionship from other dogs and would greatly benefit from living with a confident canine buddy who can guide her in building her confidence. While she struggles to warm up to new people, she does respond well to treats once she begins to trust you. Gidget has a bit of a learning curve when it comes to leash manners and needs encouragement to feel comfortable outside. Praise is essential during potty training, and she sleeps well in her crate once settled in. Gidget is not suited for homes with cats, and her compatibility with small dogs is unknown. The rescue encourages potential adopters to attend monthly adoption events in Modesto, Sacramento, and Roseville to meet Gidget and other dogs in foster care. Time and patience will reward you with a devoted companion. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
