Meet Opie, an adult male Husky mix who is around 3 years and 4 months old. This medium-sized pup has a striking black and white coat, although he’s currently sporting a shorter look due to necessary grooming. Opie is house trained and has been altered, and his vaccinations are up to date. He’s a friendly and loving companion, ready to bring joy to a new home in Chuckey, TN.

About Opie

Opie is a sweet Husky who narrowly escaped euthanasia at Animal Control. When we learned he had a sponsor, we quickly stepped in to give him the second chance he desperately needed. Upon arrival, he was in rough shape — severely matted and clearly neglected. We worked diligently to make him comfortable again. Unfortunately, some areas of his coat had to be shaved to alleviate his pain, not the best solution for a Husky, but it was necessary. We also found out that Opie is Heartworm Positive; however, with our veterinarian's assistance, he is on the road to recovery and healing. Now, Opie is beginning to feel safe and restore his health. He's already starting to show his resilient spirit. With time, care, and love, we believe he will be the beautiful Husky he was always meant to be. Opie is being fostered in Tennessee but can be transported to approved adopters across several states, including Virginia and New Jersey.
