Meet Davidson, a 3-year-old Labrador mix, affectionately known as Davie. Weighing in at about 53 pounds, he exudes sweetness and gentleness while gradually discovering that the world can be safe. Davie came to us quite underweight and bearing emotional scars from past experiences. He requires a patient and understanding adopter to help him build confidence. His timid nature means he easily gets startled, often opting to shut down when frightened. However, his response is never aggressive; it's rooted in fear. He thrives under calm guidance and positive reinforcement. Although he can be nervous around men, he is making strides with his foster dad, allowing himself to be petted and cautiously exploring the outdoors on a leash. Recently, he's even started wagging his tail and showing enthusiasm with a small gallop when he feels brave enough. Davie has shown friendly interest in the foster puppies in his home, sniffing noses through their pen and happily wagging his tail. He is crate trained and has had no accidents. It’s essential for his future home to be very secure, with careful attention to leashes, gates, and other safety measures due to his sensitivity.
