Meet Memphis! This handsome mixed-breed pup may have some Great Pyrenees in his lineage. Estimated to be around 9 months to a year old, he’s still got some growing to do. Memphis arrived as a stray and hasn’t been reclaimed, which means he’s discovering a new life away from the fear of the shelter. At first, Memphis found the shelter intimidating and was shy around people and affection. Thanks to the patience of staff and volunteers, he’s been gaining confidence and learning that gentle pets and tasty treats are pretty great! Although he’s still warming up, he’s starting to explore and enjoy daily strolls on a leash, sniffing all the new sights around him. Memphis needs a calm and understanding home where he can flourish. He would thrive with a patient owner willing to let him build his confidence at his own pace. Quick movements can startle him, so a household with children aged 12 and older would be ideal, along with a quieter atmosphere. Memphis could get along with a playful dog after a meet-and-greet, but he’s not a fan of cats.
