Meet Rueben, an independent Chihuahua around 6 years old. Rueben prefers to take his time adjusting to new environments, so he's not the type to rush up for affection. He enjoys companionship but will need you to be patient while he warms up to you. He walks well on a leash and appreciates his daily outings. Rueben thrives best with older, considerate children due to his need for a gradual introduction to new faces. Once he trusts you, you might find him happy to curl up in your lap for some love. All dogs are vaccinated and spayed or neutered before leaving the shelter. For those who are not old enough, adoption comes with a voucher for a spay/neuter at the Animal Medical Center and a year of rabies vaccination.
