About Cowgirl

Cowgirl is a spayed female dog, around 4 years old and weighing 75 pounds. Rescued from a high-kill shelter in Modesto, sheโ€™s had quite a journey, having been adopted and returned before her current foster. Living in a small apartment in San Francisco isnโ€™t ideal for her; Cowgirl craves space and a purpose to match her innate talents. Sheโ€™s a wonderful blend of Great Pyrenees and German Shepherd, with impressive instincts as a livestock guardian. Cowgirl has been around sheep, chickens, and horses, adjusting effortlessly to those environments. Her ideal home would have room for her to roam freely and engage in family activities. Besides being house trained, she is affectionate, loyal, and adores both people and other animals. Sheโ€™s also good with kids. Naturally alert, sheโ€™s known for her deep bark and is particularly vigilant against coyotes. While she enjoys hiking and exploring, swimming is not her favorite pastime. A trial period is possible for the right fit, as her current caretaker is flexible and willing to travel to find Cowgirl the perfect home. If you think Cowgirl might be the right companion for your family, don't hesitate to reach out!
