About Jemma

Meet Jemma, a wonderful dog with an endearing comeback story! This little sweetheart is a Rat Terrier and Chihuahua mix, around 3 years old. When she first came to us from a rural shelter in Missouri, Jemma was frightened and unsure. Gentle petting made her flinch, but with love and patience from her foster home, she has transformed into a loving, playful companion. Now fully housebroken and leash trained, Jemma enjoys showing off her skills—she knows 'sit,' 'stay,' and is almost ready to master 'shake.' Weighing in at about 15.5 pounds, she thrives among doggie friends and gets along well with them, which helps boost her confidence. Jemma may take some time to warm up to new people; she assesses her surroundings carefully before letting her guard down. Her ideal forever family will appreciate that building trust with her is a gradual process. Jemma is not suited for homes with children under 13, as her past experiences make her more cautious around younger folks. For the right match, she promises unwavering loyalty and affection. If you believe in fostering relationships built on kindness and patience, Jemma is ready to show you just how special she is. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
