Meet Carl. This sweet, 8-year-old Beagle is looking for a loving home that understands him. After a previous adoption didn’t work out due to a serious altercation with a larger dog, Carl returned to us missing a portion of his ear. But he deserves another chance for a peaceful, happy life. Carl loves people and craves human companionship. He’s not a fan of living with other dogs or young children, as he has strong opinions about his space and needs a calm environment. Carl has a grouchy side, especially when he’s comfortable in a home, so it’s vital for his family to respect his boundaries. One important note: Carl dislikes being startled awake. He may nip if he’s surprised while sleeping, so he requires a family who understands this and can provide him safe resting space. On the bright side, when he’s awake, this affectionate guy is all about love and attention. He is mostly house trained, crate trained, and leash trained, plus he enjoys puzzle toys and chasing after moving things. Carl also has a tendency to escape, so he should never be left outside unattended. He’s neutered and up to date on all vaccines.
