Meet Ruby! This approximately 5-year-old female spayed Basset/Shar-Pei mix, often affectionately called a "walrus dog," has a lot to offer. She is housebroken, uses a doggy door, and knows commands like sit and shake. Ruby is a sweet-natured dog who has been good with children, though she hasn’t interacted with infants. However, Ruby has had some challenges living with small dogs. While she is generally friendly, there have been incidents of food aggression, and sometimes she reacts strongly to noises or movements from the smaller dogs. With the right family that understands her needs, Ruby can thrive as an only dog in a loving home. She enjoys having a yard to play in or going for walks, wearing a harness without incident around other dogs when she's out and about.
