Meet Rowan Whitethorn, a resilient and sweet dog looking for his forever home. At 6 years and 5 months old, Rowan arrived at the shelter as part of a neglect case, but he’s making incredible progress. With help from dedicated staff and volunteers, he’s learning to trust people again. He enjoys his meals, is food-motivated, and happily sits for treats. Initially skittish, Rowan now settles quickly in a calm environment, loving attention and belly rubs from new friends. He's not very interested in toys yet, preferring the companionship of people and rolling around in the grass. Rowan is completely house trained, has learned commands like sit and lay down, and is doing well on leash walks. While he’s in great shape overall, Rowan is currently being treated for a skin infection, so his future vet will need to monitor him for ongoing care.
