About Henry

Meet Henry! Henry is a sweet and playful 3-year-old Hound who may take a little time to come out of his shell, but once he trusts you, he's full of personality. Weighing around 55 pounds, he’s looking for a patient family willing to guide him as he grows more comfortable in his surroundings. Saved from the euthanasia list at Dinwiddie Animal Shelter, Henry has faced some medical challenges. He tested positive for Ehrlichia, Lyme disease, and heartworm disease. Though he has completed treatment for Ehrlichia and Lyme, he’s currently on the slow-kill method for heartworms and will require monthly Advantage Multi for about six more months. Despite these hurdles, Henry is a charming boy who loves to run, explore, and unleash those Hound zoomies! He’s a bit shy initially, so he needs an understanding adopter who will take their time to build trust. Keep in mind, Henry is quite vocal—an apartment may not be the best fit. His ideal home would have a patient family that appreciates his lively spirit. While he hasn't been tested with cats or children yet, introductions should be approached carefully. Henry has already been given a second chance, and now he’s ready for the forever home he deserves. Start your journey together! Apply now.
