About Lionel

Meet Lionel. Hi, I'm Lionel! Named after a famous footballer, I'm a 1-year-old boy on a quest for my championship home. I was originally surrendered to Chicago Animal Care and Control and came to my current rescue through a TNR partner. I might start off shy, but every day I grow a bit braver. My favorite toys are Mini Mouse, which bring out my playful side and help break the ice. I’m still learning to trust people. I welcome gentle pets and may even surprise you with a headbutt when I feel comfortable. Patience is key with me: move slowly, approach from the side, and let me come to you. My ideal adopter understands shy cats and will give me the time I need to feel safe and confident. With the right support, I’ll emerge from my shell and thrive. I’m excited for my next match: finding my forever home.
