Dex is a 1.5-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier mix currently fostered in Houston, TX. This loyal and affectionate boy forms deep bonds with his humans and thrives in a stable, secure environment. He’s playful and loves games of tug-of-war and catch, showing great respect for other dogs' signals during play. Leash walking is a breeze for Dex; he stays calm and doesn’t pull while remaining non-reactive around other dogs. He’s intelligent, eager to learn, and responds well to guidance. Fully house trained and crate trained, Dex goes into his crate when asked and sleeps soundly through the night. While he has a strong prey drive and isn't suitable for homes with cats or small animals, he is good with dogs of all sizes. However, he takes time to warm up to children and would do best in an adult-only environment or with teens familiar with dog behavior. Dex is extremely loving with his people, thriving on attention and cuddling. He needs a home where he can continue his training and enjoy outdoor activities with his adopters.
