Amanda is a lovely 5-year-old, toy-sized Blue Merle Australian Shepherd. She has one striking blue eye and one brown eye, complemented by a soft, wavy coat and a fluffy tail. Rescued from a breeding situation, she comes with a shy and reserved personality, especially when meeting new people or faced with new experiences. At 17 pounds, Amanda is working on shedding some of her "mama weight" but is already making strides towards becoming her healthiest self. She’s quiet and finds comfort in her kennel, keeping it clean and cozy. Although it may take some time for her to build trust, once she feels safe, her affectionate side shines through. Amanda thrives in calm environments, preferring quiet naps and spending time beside those she trusts. As a developing "velcro dog," she enjoys staying close to her favorite humans. Due to her nervous disposition, an adult-only home or one with older, dog-savvy children is best for her. Amanda is diligently working on her leash skills and gets along well with other dogs. A securely fenced yard is ideal, as she’s still learning to trust people fully. With patience and kindness, Amanda is sure to grow into a loyal companion for the right family.
