After his previous owner passed away, he was found wandering in Dublin, GA with a severe bite mark around his neck. While the Dublin-Laurens Animal Control initially planned to euthanize him, the veterinarians intervened and convinced them to allow George a chance at life. He underwent neck surgery, was neutered, and tested for heartworms, which came back positive. He has a heart murmur as well, making his treatment a bit complicated. The vet recommends continuing his heartworm preventatives while allowing the worms to die off naturally—often called the “Slow-Kill” method. Despite his past, George is a loving and playful companion. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and quickly bonds with everyone he meets. This affectionate little guy loves to snuggle and be held, and he’s shown impressive house and crate training skills. His calm demeanor means he rarely barks and behaves well on car rides. George would make a fantastic companion, particularly for someone retired or a senior looking for a loving friend. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, and ready to start a new chapter.
