About Darla
Darla's world has been turned upside down, and she is hoping someone will help put it back together. Meet Darla, a lovely Calico with a gentle nature and a tranquil, quiet presence. She was once cherished in New Jersey by a kind woman who provided her the loving home she truly deserved. Darla lived happily alongside five other cats, fitting comfortably into her feline family until April 2026, when her owner passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Suddenly, Darla found herself and her companions without a home, facing grave circumstances in overcrowded shelters. Thankfully, due to the compassion of friends and neighbors, she made her way to Safe Haven. Despite her loss, Darla remains the sweet, loving cat she has always been. Her peaceful spirit brings calm to everyone around her. Often found cozied up in her favorite cat bed, she delights in simple pleasures and welcomes affection from those who take the time to engage. Darla gets along beautifully with other cats and has a soft spot for treats. She would thrive in a home with respectful older children and adults who will value her gentle nature. If you're looking for a companion to fill your life with calm and unconditional love, Darla might just be the perfect match. Visit Darla at the Safe Haven shelter in Wells, ME, or fill out an application to meet her soon. Your new best friend could be waiting for you!
