Meet Kirby! This 5-year-old Terrier mix is brimming with charm and character. His journey has been quite a ride; originally adopted into a loving home, he had to come back when a new baby arrived. After nearly five years in a kennel, Kirby enjoyed some time with a caring foster family, where he rediscovered what it feels like to be truly loved. Kirby was adopted again but ended up back at the humane society after making a few escape attempts from his yard. Thankfully, Heartland welcomed him back once more. Now, Kirby is back at Heartland, longing for a forever home and hoping you will see the wonderful companion he can be. This friendly fellow adores people of all ages, including kids. He's an active dog who would love to accompany you on walks, jogs, and hikes. When it's time to relax, he transforms into a professional lap dog, relishing the close contact with his favorite humans. Kirby is housebroken and great with children. He does well with dogs that match his energetic spirit but prefers to steer clear of cats.
