About Tessa

Tessa is a sweet, gentle 4-month-old Black Labrador Retriever mix who weighs around 15 pounds. Rescued from a Louisiana shelter with her littermates, she's been slowly gaining confidence in her foster home. Although Tessa is still a bit shy with new faces and situations, she thrives in calm environments with consistent routines. She's already learning to use a pet door for potty breaks and enjoys her structured daily rhythm. Tessa will need a patient and understanding family to help her continue building trust. A fenced-in backyard is essential, and she should ideally be in a home with adults during the day. Instead of crating, a puppy pen or baby gate is recommended for when she's unsupervised. Tessa is vaccinated and microchipped. While she hasn’t been spayed due to recent studies suggesting larger breeds should wait longer, the adopter will sign an agreement and may qualify for a rebate after the procedure.
