About Argus

Meet Argus, a warm-hearted 10-year-old Blue Tick Coonhound and Treeing Walker Coonhound mix, weighing about 70 pounds. He’s looking for a stable home where he can get a lot of love and attention. Argus is generally friendly, although he has that typical hound bark when he spots new guests from outside. Once they come inside, he prefers to greet them with curious sniffs. A proud cuddle buddy, Argus cherishes cozy moments and would love to reclaim his couch privileges in a new home. He’s house trained and only barks when confined to a crate, which he might not enjoy very much. He gets along well with children but would thrive best in an adult-only environment due to his past experiences with younger kids. Though he may not be a toy enthusiast, he enjoys fetch with treats and is very food motivated. His new family needs to be mindful not to leave food within reach, as he will sniff out anything he can get! Argus prefers to be the center of attention, so he’ll need a home without other dogs. A fenced yard will help him explore safely while reducing his reactivity. His ideal family will be patient and loving, allowing him to enjoy simply being a hound. Argus is ready for a new chapter filled with comfort and care. He comes with a kennel, dog bed, supplies, and paperwork. If you think Argus could be the right fit for you, make sure you apply now!
