Lentil came to us as a stray from Eastern North Carolina, making his past a bit of a mystery. But what’s clear is his bold, feisty personality. This little guy embodies the spirited nature of a Jack Russell Terrier and already thinks he’s the toughest pup around. We expect him to grow into a small-to-medium dog, likely in the 30-40 pound range. Don’t let his size fool you; Lentil is fearless. He comfortably stands his ground with his larger foster sister and thrives during lively games of tug of war. When he’s not wrestling, you’ll find him on the deck chewing sticks, chasing his own tail, or confidently exploring every nook and cranny of his surroundings. Lentil is also quite intelligent. He’s just beginning his potty training, leash manners, and basic obedience, but he's proving to be a quick learner—he even alerts us when his pad needs changing! He sleeps through the night, delighting his foster family, and rises early, ready for the day ahead. After a good play session in the morning, he settles in for a well-deserved nap, though his puppy energy will surely keep things lively.
