Meet Ben, the certified hug expert. This Poodle mix, possibly with Labrador Retriever, is about 3 years old and weighs around 70 pounds. Ben is house trained and kennel trained, up to date on vaccinations, and heartworm negative. His neutering is scheduled, and he’ll be microchipped soon. Ben boasts an enormous heart, eager to give and receive affection. His favorite pastime? Being close to his humans, especially if it means sharing one of his gentle hugs. With a goofy, enthusiastic energy, he thrives on companionship with other dogs and truly enjoys their presence. Before joining our care, Ben faced challenges that could have defined him. Underweight and struggling with significant skin and coat issues, he needed both medical attention and kindness. Thankfully, he is on the mend and comes to life a bit more each day. Previously recommended for behavioral euthanasia, Ben has proved there’s a wonderful dog waiting to shine. With the right structure and guidance, he has shown a keen willingness to learn and a deep desire to bond with people. Ben is currently in training, responding well and making strides. We're addressing some resource guarding behavior, and he’s accepting guidance beautifully. He’s available as a foster-to-adopt, allowing everyone to find out if he's the right fit while we continue to support his journey.
