About Sabino
Meet Sabino! Sabino is a 4-year-old, 26-pound mixed breed, primarily Pomeranian and Husky. She is shy and still discovering that the world can be a safe and predictable place. Building confidence with leash walking and harness work is a work in progress for her, requiring time, patience, and gentle encouragement. Currently undergoing heartworm treatment, Sabino needs ongoing care with regular visits to the NMDR clinic. Her adopter must follow her treatment plan closely, and a heartworm waiver will be required upon adoption. Toys offer her comfort, and she expresses herself quite vocally. Having had her left eye surgically removed due to a micro eye, this does not hinder her exploratory abilities. Sabino seems to tolerate other dogs and may thrive with a calm, well-socialized canine companion. Due to her sensitivities, a structured home where she can adjust at her own pace is essential. An adult-only environment is strongly recommended to keep her stress levels low. She is sensitive to leash pressure and might become overwhelmed, sometimes pulling away or mouthing the leash; thus, a patient and experienced adopter is ideal. A secure, fenced-in yard is necessary due to her high flight risk. A meet-and-greet at the shelter will be required to ensure Sabino finds the best match. With time and patience, Sabino has shown she can build her confidence and trust. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
