Skye is a 3-year-old, 59 lb female Shepherd mix currently located in Corpus Christi, TX, available for local adoption only. Having faced hardships early in life, she was abandoned after becoming pregnant, but her resilience shines through. Thankfully, Skye was rescued along with her healthy puppies. While they have found homes, she has worked through some initial issues with the help of a dedicated foster mom. Now, she’s ready for her forever home. Skye’s foster environment has included both a very small dog and a larger one, and she gets along well with them. She enjoys snuggling with the smaller pup and plays nicely with the bigger dog. Although Skye would benefit from having another dog as a role model, she can also thrive as a solo dog. Her past as a street dog means she will need some time to warm up to new dogs and people, making a patient and experienced adopter an ideal match. House trained, crate trained, and eager to go for daily walks, Skye enjoys her time outdoors. Daily exercise will help her build confidence and burn off some energy. She does not get along with cats or smaller animals. Skye seeks someone who understands her gentle nature and can offer her the love and space she deserves.
