Meet Salem! Born on June 29, 2025, Salem and her siblings are ready to leave behind their challenging past and find the loving homes they truly deserve. Previously, they lived in a car with their devoted owner, who made the tough decision to surrender them to a shelter for a chance at a better life. Salem is incredibly sweet, friendly toward both people and other cats. Though she may initially be a bit shy, she warms up quickly, revealing her affectionate side. Once comfortable, her curiosity takes over, making her an explorer at heart. You can often find her scaled to the highest perch of a cat tree, observing all the activity below. In her downtime, Salem loves to play and soak up attention. Her favorite activities include chasing wand toys and jingly balls. Cuddles are a must; she craves close interactions with her humans. Due to the stress of her earlier living conditions, she has some patches of missing fur from overgrooming. With patience and the comfort of a caring home, her coat is expected to improve. She has also had a reaction to topical flea treatments, so it’s advised to avoid those in the future. Ideally, Salem would thrive in a home with one of her siblings, her mother, or another friendly feline companion. However, she could also do well as a solo kitty, as long as she receives ample love and playtime. While she hasn't been tested with dogs, she would likely do well with a gentle, cat-friendly canine.
