About River

Meet River! He's a charming, three-month-old Domestic Short Hair from Lexington, KY. River is still learning that the world can be a safe and welcoming place. Although people can make him a bit uneasy, he’s steadily growing bolder. He would thrive in a patient home that understands it takes time to build trust. River feels most at ease with other cats around, so having a confident feline friend can greatly help him. He could really benefit from a social companion or a pair through our Best Friend Bonus program. With slow introductions and patience, he may adjust well to a calm, respectful dog, too. This little guy is looking for a peaceful home with adults or older teenagers who will give him the space he needs. Given his shyness, young children might be too much for him right now. If you believe you can help a timid kitty grow into a loving companion, River is ready for that adventure with you. River will be ready to go home after June 29. He has been neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed, combo tested negative for feline leukemia and feline immunodeficiency virus, and microchipped. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
