Henry's origin story is one of the most amusing we've had in a while. Imagine sitting on a sidewalk, minding your business, when a crowd swarms around you, convinced you're in labor. Before you can protest, an Animal Control Officer rushes you to a shelter for a safe delivery. But here's the twist: Henry is a fully grown cat, not expecting kittens or anything else! When he arrived, he had a clear message—hissing and swatting to express his annoyance at the chaos. With some TLC from the staff, he began to reveal his softer side. Now settled in cat college, Henry is learning to relax. Though he prefers a slow approach with strangers, once he trusts you, the rewards are plenty. He loves to lean in for pets, rub against your legs, and play with toys like his enthusiasm knows no bounds. Being a large gentleman, Henry is on a journey to maintain a healthy weight and keeps motivated with a little help, like a tasty churro. Henry is an adult cat, around 3 years old, and is looking for someone to support him in becoming his best self. All our adopted animals are microchipped, vaccinated, and spayed or neutered. If you’d like to meet Henry, stop by Huntsville Animal Services. No appointment is needed; just ensure you're 19 or older and bring a valid ID.
