About Hunter

Meet Hunter, a charming fellow looking for a forever home in Wakefield, RI. At around 2 years old and about 46 lbs, he embodies a wonderful mix of Labrador Retriever and Terrier traits. Hunter has been neutered and is up to date on vaccinations, making him a ready-to-go companion. This friendly boy is eager to be your best friend. Hunter loves to play with other dogs and meets new adults with enthusiasm. While we haven’t seen him interact with kids yet, his gentle demeanor suggests he would do well with them, too. He’s house trained, crate trained, and walks beautifully on a leash, making him an excellent choice for anyone seeking a walking or running partner. Although he enjoys toy playtime, he’s also the kind of dog who rarely barks. Ideally, Hunter would thrive with a fenced yard for safe play, but if that’s not possible, regular walks and opportunities for off-leash fun will keep him happy. Participating in an obedience course would help him learn manners and further socialize with both people and animals. Rescued from a dog pound in Stilwell, Oklahoma, Hunter is now ready to bring joy to a new home. He has tested positive for previous exposure to ehrlichia but is asymptomatic and has received preventative treatment. If you’re ready to give this gentle boy a loving home, fill out your application today. Hunter’s waiting to meet you!
