Rescued from the euthanasia list, she spent some time battling an upper respiratory infection but is now poised to embrace a brighter future with a loving family. Shy by nature, Chikis takes a bit longer to warm up to new people. However, she has a passion for food, and tasty treats have been a great way to build her confidence and help her step outside her comfort zone. Currently, she’s working on potty training and learning leash manners. Chikis needs a patient and understanding family that can offer gentle encouragement and consistency as she develops these important skills. A calm canine companion would also be a tremendous help in boosting her confidence. Chikis seeks a quiet, low-key home where her new family understands that building trust is a gradual process. With the right environment, she’ll blossom into a devoted companion. Due to her small size and timid nature, an adults-only home would be ideal.
