About Rocky

Rocky is feeling like a brand new dog! He arrived in early June from Wichita Animal Services, where he was frail, malnourished, and weighed just 31 lbs. With the love and care of a fantastic foster family, he has gained the healthy weight he needed and embraced his vibrant personality. Now, at 9 months old and 57 pounds, Rocky walks beautifully on a leash. He’s potty trained and crate trained, giving a gentle nudge at the door when he needs to go outside. Although Rocky enjoys exploring independently and sniffing everything around him, he always returns for affection. A quick kiss surprised him at first, but he welcomed it and kept coming back for more. He adores tug-of-war, chewing on sturdy toys, and going on daily walks. Rocky met many new people, including children, and has lived peacefully with a cat in his foster home. While he enjoyed playing with a small dog, slow introductions with other dogs are suggested. He already knows commands like sit, shake, leave it, off, and go potty. If you're searching for a curious, affectionate, and spirited companion who has overcome significant challenges, Rocky is ready to meet you today!
