About Astrid URGENT
Astrid is an urgent case, facing an upper respiratory infection and needs a new home immediately. This 10-week-old Australian Shepherd mix is currently at the Kern County Animal Services - Bakersfield Shelter, having been there since July 15, 2026. Astrid's situation is critical, as she is at high risk for euthanasia due to overcrowding and the shelter's limited resources. Despite her challenges, Astrid shows promise as a loving companion. Her stunning coat features a blend of brown, white, and a hint of merle. This small, female pup is waiting for someone special to nurture her back to health and fill her days with love and adventures. If you're interested in adopting or fostering her, please reach out to the Companion Animal Protection Society (CAPS) through their contact form, as they do not answer phone calls often due to understaffing.
