About Jerry

Jerry came to TJO after testing positive for Canine Parvovirus, a highly contagious illness often affecting puppies and unvaccinated dogs. Thankfully, he received prompt treatment and has fully recovered. Now heโ€™s medically cleared and excited to find his forever home. When it comes to other pets, Jerry can be a bit intense around bigger dogs but showed interest in playing with a smaller dog he met. He could get along with another dog but can also thrive as the only pet, so introductions are a must before adoption. Jerry is an active and friendly dog, ideal for someone with previous dog experience, or someone willing to learn. While heโ€™s tolerant of handling, he has exhibited some mild resource guarding with food, so a home with children aged 13 and up who understand dog behavior would be best. He enjoys playing with tug toys and benefits from regular exercise and mental activities like food puzzles. Jerry has good basic commands and would benefit from additional training using positive reinforcement. With his playful nature and eagerness to bond, he's sure to bring joy to a loving home.
