Merrit arrived at our rescue alongside his siblings from a hoarding situation, missing out on the socialization and experiences that every puppy needs. As a result, he is shy and a bit cautious around new faces and environments. Merrit isn't aggressive and has never shown signs of aggression; he simply needs time to acclimate. With patience, love, and gentle interactions, you can help him gain the confidence he needs. He'll do best in a home with children aged 12 and older who can respect his need for space as he adjusts. Building a bond with Merrit requires you to be his gentle guide, letting him explore the world at his own pace. Though he may not rush into your arms, the small victories you celebrate together will strengthen the trust between you.
