**Meet Cora 💜** Cora is a 5-year-old sweetheart looking for a patient, quiet home where she can finally relax and be herself. Life in the shelter has been a bit overwhelming for this shy girl, and you'll often find her tucked away in a cozy hiding spot. Spend a little time with her, and you'll find that she adores gentle attention and affection. Her previous owner mentioned that Cora has always preferred to hide. We believe she would thrive in a calm environment, especially with an older adult or someone who understands that earning her trust takes time. While she might not seek the limelight, she'll reward your kindness with her sweet, loving nature. Cora does have a Grade III heart murmur. Many cats with such murmurs can still lead happy, fulfilling lives, though they may occasionally be associated with a heart condition called hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). To understand the underlying cause, a cardiac ultrasound (echocardiogram) by a veterinary cardiologist may be necessary. Her future adopter should be vigilant for any signs of breathing difficulties or sudden weakness in her back legs and seek veterinary care promptly if needed. We have not yet tested Cora with other cats or dogs, so any introductions should proceed with caution.
