About Maru
Meet Maru: this lovable 10-year-old Jack Russell Terrier mix (our best guess) weighs about 16 pounds. Maru found himself at a high-kill shelter in Tennessee after his owners felt they didn’t have time for him anymore. They heartlessly dropped him off, leaving him confused and scared in an empty crate. Luckily, a dedicated rescuer noticed and managed to get him out just in time. Now being fostered in the South, Maru is looking forward to making the trip north to Pennsylvania to meet his forever family. Initially shy, he quickly warmed up and has shown he gets along well with other dogs, although he'd likely thrive in a home with just one other dog or even as the only pet, enjoying plenty of one-on-one attention. Maru adores snuggling and loves to curl up in his person's lap. While he is good with people, a calm, laid-back environment will be best for him, as he may be frightened by small children. Maru is crate trained but prefers a cozy doggy bed. His excitement is palpable when he sees his harness, knowing it's time for a walk. Maru enjoys outdoor adventures and would benefit from a fenced yard for sunbathing and sniffing around. He is house trained and up to date on his vaccinations, as well as neutered. If you're interested in sharing your lap with this sweet snuggler, please apply through Charlie's Crusaders. They are located in Horn Lake, MS, waiting to connect him with his new family.
