She was discovered sitting in the middle of a busy Chicago street during a freezing rainstorm, shivering quietly as cars whizzed by. Shelby didn’t bark or flee; she just sat there, looking like she’d given up hope, waiting for someone to help her. Fortunately, someone did notice. Brought to a vet clinic, it was evident Shelby had endured a tough life, with old scars and a quirky ear hematoma that her foster affectionately describes as resembling an "empty bag of chips." This unique feature adds to her charm. At just over a year old, Shelby embodies both playful puppy energy and laid-back couch potato vibes. When she gets the zoomies, her antics are Olympic-worthy, complete with adorable little sounds that keep everyone entertained. After burning off her energy, you can find her curled up next to her people, happily snoring. Shelby is also incredibly intelligent. She knows commands like sit, down, stay, and paw, is both crate and house trained, and is diligently practicing "wait." Her favorite pastime? Daily walks where she explores every nook and cranny of the neighborhood. Children light up Shelby’s world; she adores them and would love to be their devoted companion. She’s friendly with dogs of all shapes and ages, and even has a history of helping with orphaned kittens!
