**Meet Taco** Taco is a sweet young Chiweenie searching for a loving family who can provide him with the patience he needs. His journey has been quite the ride. Originally from California, Taco found himself in Oregon after being adopted from another rescue. He became a father to little Penelope but faced a new transition when his family experienced housing issues. Through no fault of his own, Taco is starting over once again. While Taco can be shy when meeting new people, a little time is all he needs to reveal his true self. Once he trusts you, he is playful, affectionate, and eager to be an integral part of the family. He gets along well with other dogs and even does fine with cats. Taco is especially suited for homes with older children, ideally those 12 and up, who understand the importance of building trust gradually. Taco is crate trained and has made excellent progress with potty training. However, he’s still learning that leashes and harnesses aren’t scary. His family will need to commit to helping him continue his training and build his confidence through positive experiences and socialization. He would thrive in a patient environment that appreciates a shy dog and is willing to let him blossom at his own pace. In return, Taco will offer unwavering loyalty and love.
