Meet Max! Max is a charming 17-pound Jack Russell Terrier mix, around 14 years young, looking for a warm and loving forever home. He came to the rescue after his owner had to move out of the country. Now, he seeks a patient family where he can enjoy his golden years in comfort. This little shadow bonds closely with one person, following them from room to room. Max loves couch snuggles, leisurely walks, snacks, and being near his humans. Currently, he lives happily with other dogs, doing best with medium or larger companions who share a calm demeanor. He’s also met older children and done well, though he hasn’t been tested with cats. However, he doesn’t show signs of prey drive and might adapt well to a gentle, dog-savvy cat after a proper introduction. Max enjoys his rest and may growl if startled. Therefore, a family that respects his space is essential. He’s not a fan of being left alone, and may bark or howl until he settles down. A bit of patience will go a long way with this sweet boy. Max wears a diaper indoors due to his little bladder and does best with outdoor support after meals. He takes allergy medication, Dasuquin for his joints, and a liver-support supplement due to slightly elevated levels. After recently having 13 teeth extracted during a dental cleaning, he's feeling revitalized! With an adorable waddle and a signature party ear, Max is full of personality and ready to be a loyal companion, a couch buddy, and the ultimate snack-time supervisor.
