Meet Pinochle, a charming adult cat who came to the Sanctuary with his mother, Hearts, and siblings. He’s a sweet boy who enjoys prancing around, seeking out cuddles on his terms. Pinochle often prefers to initiate cuddle time himself, happily sitting on your lap or claiming your bed as his own. His quirky behavior involves sitting in odd spots and staring off into the distance, perhaps contemplating the mysteries of life. Pinochle requires a urinary food diet due to a previous history of urinary crystals. With regular vet visits and the right diet, he’s set up for a long, healthy life. Although he has a short coat, he can be a bit untidy with grooming and might develop mats at the base of his tail. He’s not a fan of pedicures, so expect a two-person job with plenty of treats involved! Pinochle prefers to be on the ground and isn’t keen on being picked up, so patience is crucial. If you approach him calmly, he might let you pick him up, but be careful; he has a tendency to flail if startled. He loves wet food and takes medications easily when mixed in.
