Meet Buddy, an 8-year-old Maltese with a big heart! This charming little dog is on the lookout for a forever home where he can thrive. Buddy came to H.A.L.O. after his previous owner faced housing restrictions that wouldn’t allow pets. Although it was a tough choice for her, she prioritized Buddy's happiness above all. Throughout his life, Buddy has learned what it means to feel safe and loved, and he truly enjoys his routine. He finds comfort in his crate, walks well on a leash, and loves relaxing beside his person. Buddy is friendly with new faces and has done well with children. He does have some unique quirks. Buddy can be protective of his food, so it’s important to respect his mealtime space. His ideal home will continue his established routine and be patient with his needs. Additionally, Buddy has been diagnosed with tracheal damage, requiring him to be walked using a harness only, and he may need occasional cough medication. A little dental care is also in order, as he had a cleaning earlier this year and may need a worn canine tooth removed in the future. This lovable guy may be a bit quirky, but he’s ready to share his heart with someone who will see the charm in his personality.
