Meet Ophelia! This beautiful British Shorthair has overcome so much in her short life. Estimated to be around 1 year old, she was rescued from a terrible breeding situation where she lived without love or care. Fortunately, she is now safe in a foster home in Forest Hills, Queens, where she is learning what it means to simply be a cat. Ophelia is incredibly gentle and affectionate, and she has adapted beautifully with her foster mom's two male cats, showing nothing but sweet manners. One of the most heartwarming aspects of her personality is how she cares for a little toy mouse, treating it like her own kitten. This behavior is both touching and a reminder of her past, as she never had toys before coming into rescue. Ophelia is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and FIV/FeLV negative. She has a sensitive stomach from her previous starvation and requires a good quality diet. She's looking for a calm and loving family that can provide her with the cozy home and gentle hands every cat deserves.
