About Franco

Meet Franco, a sweet soul who finally has the chance for the life he deserves. For his first four years, Franco lived a lonely existence as a 'junkyard dog,' chained to a fence with little more than a worn-out doghouse to call home. He was expected to guard a plot of land beside a tire service, treated more as an object than a companion. Fortunately, a dedicated volunteer from Critter Cavalry Rescue fought to save him. After months of effort, Franco was freed from that life. Today, he’s learning how to be a loved pet. He has received veterinary care for the first time, enjoyed a bath and grooming, and is starting to blossom. Despite testing positive for heartworms, he’s already receiving treatment and is on the road to recovery. Franco is crate trained and eager to learn. He has quickly picked up commands like 'sit' and 'leave it.' Though he shares his foster home with both large and small dogs, his behavior around cats is still a question mark since he tried to chase stray cats outdoors. What’s clear is that he craves affection, often giving the sweetest kisses and leaning into those who show him love. After years of longing for a family, Franco is ready to find a home that will provide him with the love and care he has always deserved. Click apply to start the adoption process.
