Meet Luke! This 6-year-old Beagle is your perfect companion if a loyal little shadow is what you're after. Weighing in at about 24 pounds, Luke is currently a bit on the skinny side, but he's working hard to change that! Like any true Beagle, he loves his food and is always ready for a snack, making his mealtimes particularly enjoyable. Though he can be shy at first, give Luke some time and he'll reveal himself as one of the sweetest, happiest dogs you could hope to meet. Once he trusts you, his tail hardly stops wagging—even when he dreams, it seems to keep moving! Luke has the instincts of a true hound, and he loves to follow his nose during outdoor explorations. This means he'll need to be walked on a leash and kept in securely fenced areas to keep him safe. A backyard would be fantastic for him but isn't a dealbreaker as long as he has the opportunity for plenty of sniff-filled adventures. He's also crate trained, though he may sing a little before settling in for his nap. While Luke is still working on his house training, he's eager to learn and will thrive with a family committed to helping him build good potty habits. Luke adores children and gets along wonderfully with other dogs, making him a gentle, friendly addition to any family. In the mornings, he’s the lovable sleepyhead who checks in to see what’s happening before curling back up for a snooze.
