About Rico

Meet Rico, an almost 2-year-old Hound/Retriever mix who weighs around 62 lbs. This handsome boy has a heart full of hope despite his rough start; he was abandoned by his previous family but found refuge with caring neighbors and a supportive foster home. Rico gets along well with other dogs, thriving in their company and bringing joy to everyone around him. Although he can be a little reserved with strangers, Rico is sweet and cuddly with those who take the time to get to know him. He’s potty and kennel trained, and walks like a pro on a leash. When inside, he enjoys lounging on the couch, but outdoors, he comes alive—playing with toys, chasing balls, and enjoying the fresh air. He does have a slight limp in his back leg but it doesn’t dampen his spirit or ability to enjoy life. Rico would flourish in a loving home with a fenced yard where he can explore and relax in the sunshine. This sweet guy deserves a family to call his own.
