About Jessie
Meet Jessie, available for adoption in New England! This sweet and intelligent tri-color Australian Shepherd is nearly 6 years old and weighs around 35 lbs. Jessie possesses the youthful energy of a much younger dog and delights in outdoor activities like hiking and playing with her foster's younger Aussie. She also loves snuggling on the couch with her foster family. Jessie is smart and knows commands including sit, stay, down, and more. She's well-behaved on a leash and responds promptly when called. After settling beautifully into her foster home, she gets along well with all three resident dogs and exhibits a calm demeanor when corrected. Although she hasn't been tested with cats, she does not seem to have a strong prey drive. Ideal for an active family, Jessie thrives on physical exercise and mental stimulation. Another playful dog and a yard where she can run are preferred. With her impressive agility skills, she might also enjoy some agility training! She is not suited for long hours alone, as she is prone to excitement urination and mild separation anxiety. Apartment living would not be the best fit for her. Jessie's foster has said, “She's the best foster I've ever had, and I would adopt her if I didn't already have three dogs.
