Davidson is a 3-year-old Labrador mix, affectionately known as Davie. Weighing in at a healthy 53 pounds, this gentle boy is on a journey to learn that the world can be a safe and loving place. His past was tough; he arrived underweight and with emotional scars from abuse, which makes him need a patient and understanding adopter. Although Davie is timid and easily startled, he shows progress with calm guidance. When frightened, he tends to withdraw instead of react, but he has never shown aggression—only fear. He does get nervous around men, yet he's been making strides with his foster dad, allowing gentle pets and gradually getting comfortable with outdoor walks on a leash. You can see his spirit start to shine as he cautiously wags his tail and even performs a little gallop when feeling brave. Davie shows a friendly interest in the foster puppies at home, sniffing noses through their pen. Crate training is going well, and he's had no accidents. His ideal home should provide a secure environment where he can thrive. Adopters must be diligent with leashing and safety precautions. This sweet soul just needs kindness, patience, and a secure home to continue his journey.
