Her journey began on the streets of South Texas, relying on the kindness of strangers until her challenging experience with a difficult spay surgery led her to a much-needed chance at a better life. Since then, she has been thriving in foster care, learning the meaning of safety and routine. Canela is potty trained and crate trained, walking well on a leash. Her demeanor is calm and low-energy; she enjoys leisurely walks but is just as happy to lounge nearby and observe her surroundings. She's not demanding or high-maintenance; instead, she bonds deeply once she feels secure. This gentle girl gets along well with other dogs if introductions are handled slowly, though she has not been tested with cats. For a smooth transition, any children in her home should be calm and respectful of her space as she adjusts. Canela may not be the type to rush into your arms immediately, but with patience and consistency, she'll reward you with trust and loyalty.
