Argos is named after the loyal dog from Greek mythology who waited faithfully for Odysseus to return home, never losing hope. This wonderful boy embodies that same strength and unwavering loyalty every day. Despite his past, Argos remains patient, loving, and eager to belong. He often doesn’t realize how remarkable he is. Though he's a large dog, he sees himself as a lap dog, filled with joy, especially when playtime rolls around — as if he's getting to experience the puppyhood he never had. Around here, we affectionately call him our "big hippo" for his giant heart and endearing personality. Argos gets along beautifully with other dogs and quickly learned the catio is meant for admiration, not exploration. He has adapted incredibly well to home life, boasting great manners and being house-trained. On walks, he’s excellent on a leash, enjoys car rides, and is motivated by food, making him a keen learner. He has his beloved, indestructible kennel, which he treats like his cozy cave for long naps. With a gentle and affectionate nature, Argos deserves a family that will never let him down again. When rescued, he bore scars from being tied outdoors—a painful reminder of his past. However, he has chosen to embrace love over fear. In his foster home, he shows respect towards male dogs that are similar in size and strength, demonstrating loyalty and a protective instinct without aggression if he senses danger to his canine friends. Argos is ready to leave his past behind and find the forever family he truly deserves. If you seek a devoted companion with a heart as big as he is, Argos is waiting for you.
