About Chipper
Meet Chipper, also known as UTZ. This remarkable dog earned his name after surviving with a purple pretzel jar stuck on his head for at least 11 days. Chipper has endured significant trauma, but he’s ready to find a long-term “just friends” relationship. Chipper is a handsome fellow who looks tough, but deep down, he's a sensitive soul. He can walk on a leash and tolerate baths, though he’s not yet the cuddling type. He prefers to be near you, especially when storms or fireworks hit, but he’s still learning to embrace love. Home is where Chipper truly shines, especially if you have a cozy retreat for him, such as a walk-in shower or a covered crate. He’s great with other dogs and would thrive with a playful canine sibling to help him face the world. The ideal adopter for Chipper is calm and confident, ready to accept him just as he is. He’s housebroken, enjoys peanut butter, and has come a long way from what he once faced. While he may never be a lap dog, he will be your most loyal companion. Will you be the solid presence he needs?
