About Phoenix
Meet Phoenix, an endearing male mix of Shih Tzu and Lhasa Apso. At 5 years old, he finds himself in need of a loving home due to circumstances beyond his control. Phoenix has been alone for long stretches and yearns for a family to cuddle with, engage in activities, and share his charm. Weighing around 21 pounds, he brings a lot of cuteness to the table. While he’s comfortable sleeping in a crate with the door open and is pad trained at home, he happily goes outside too. He’s also leash trained and up-to-date on vaccinations, as well as neutered. His background of long hours alone has led him to rely on pad training. Since joining our care, Phoenix has shown a friendly demeanor toward other dogs, particularly at our adoption events. He prefers a fenced yard over walks and isn't suited for apartment living. Phoenix would thrive best in a quieter home, where he receives ample love and guidance, especially as he learns to engage with people and other pets. He’s not fond of being picked up, so understanding owners are a must. Given that he has no history with small children, a home without kids is recommended.
