About Kira

Meet Kira! Kira is a 4.5-year-old Miniature Schnauzer mix weighing around 15 pounds. This sweet girl has made remarkable progress since arriving in foster care, where she's discovering what it means to be a dog. Having come from a home with limited socialization, Kira initially found the world daunting. Through the patient guidance of her foster mom, she learned that people can be kind, routines can feel comforting, and life can be fun. One of Kira's proudest achievements has been her ability to engage with the other dogs in her foster home, and watching her grow in confidence is beautiful. Sheโ€™s searching for a family willing to give her the time she needs to adjust at her own pace. She thrives in a calm environment and isn't suited for a busy lifestyle; just a patient home where she can continue to build trust and enjoy her new life. If you believe that the best relationships develop over time, Kira could be the perfect companion for you. All dogs at Heart of America Humane Society are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. The adoption fee is $250. Click apply to start the adoption process.
